Cherries – Luxuriant Spring Blossom

The various ornamental cherries are underway now with their spectacular blossom. Prunus x yedoensis (right below) starts things going around Easter time with a very soft pink, and then the others gradually follow through April and in to May with flowers from pure white to deep pink depending on variety. Prunus 'Jo-nioi', which has delicate white scented blossom and emergent golden brown foliage, features on our Home page. Prunus 'Shirotae' (left below) is one of the most spectacular Japanese cherries with its wide spreading crown and masses of semi-double white flowers. Prunus avium 'Plena' (middle below) has masses of pendant double white blooms. Just a few of the selection on offer at the nursery.
